Did you actually manage to use every single transition built into movie maker?
If you are using movie maker I would recommend keeping your cuts nice and simple. On the gameplay side there were some nice no scopes I would probably just say that there was just too much waiting around for you to do something while nothing was happening.

this is your first montage so ill break you in on a couple things that can help ya out. first, anytime you put something out for the public to see, you are always gonna get critics and flamming, along with good comments. DONT TAKE IT PERSONAL! esp when showing montages. everyone seems to knows how the perfect montage should be, when the perfect montage is only found in the eye of the person veiwing it. what am i saying?? everyone has a opinion, there is no perfect montage that everyone will like. with that being said ill tell ya what i thought you could work on...

try to get a lil better clips. the NS were nice, but alot were just tripple kills. im not knocking ya if you cant get past a trip, but try to get some overs and maybe killtacs.raise the bar a little bite on your gameplay. also, dont use swat clips, unless its a swat montage. Swat has soooo much to do with host, and its not really that skill full to pull multi-kills in swat. try to do a little more with the editing as well. if you cant becasue your using movie maker, then i understand to a degree, but at least throw in
some good camera work! get diff shots of kills and what not. you can make a good montage with out any effects really, just good gameplay and,imo, great camera work! ill think of some more things to help ya out later and edit this post. None the less, good job on your first montage. It was about the same quality, editing wise, as my first montage was, so i can relate to ya! just keep learning!!

With WMM it isn't the worst program available! Windows Live Movie Maker is as you don't even get a timeline, lol. The program completely fails even at a splitting/ cutting clip point. Not to say you can't but I would love to see what you could do with the windows live one. Actually what is your gamertag (or add "Bilzo 4") I have an idea and it could be a bit of fun.

Basically my idea was going to be to use the windows live movie maker (the worst one) to make a montage, but not just you, I would be happy to give it a go with my left over reach beta clips and maybe we could get some other people to do some montages with it for fun and to see how much people can really get out of it.
Star wipes would be a must! (or pretty much any transition as they are all as bad as each other really)
