I have been thinking of buying a new tv, and wanted to know if the community had any suggestions as too what tv is the best for consel gamming? i have heard anything over 32 inch isnt good for gamming, but does anyone have an idea which tv's offer the least amount of "lag" or "tear" in the screen. I have a 42 inch Sony Bravia that i play on now, and i hate it. i used to think i was just bad, which i am, but Hazmat (and my friends) have all said there is something funky with my tv. i get a ton of screen lag, i feel my shots are not hitting when i shoot, i constantly jump and my jump has a lag to it as well, and its starting to get these fuzzy lines through it. Any suggestions or ideas as to what tv would be better would be greatly appreciated. thanks HM, aYs

the HDMI cables will cause some lag......i play on a 19 inch and its perfect.....i recommend a 26 inch with the regular HD cables.....that would help a lot with the lag

I'd recommend, if you're not looking to over-spend, an acer. They're pretty reasonably priced and are pretty good. I use the H213H model. It's 21.5 inch screen, never experienced screen lag and just 1 simple wire to attach. It's pretty sick and the quality looks amazing as well.

thanks for the replys. i got a question or 2 though. What is the difference between HDMI, and HD? Is HD just the green/red/blue cables? also i heard you can get up too a 32 inch or so, and not expeirence any lag? also price doesnt matter, i just want the best...but im not gonna spend over 3g on a tv lol

ok the difference between HDMI and HD (RGB) is that hdmi sends a digital signal in ones and zeroes where as rgb uses varying currents of voltage to transfer the picture.
in hdmi, especially if you're running a long hdmi cord there is no error correction in the information being sent from the source, whereas rgb has an auto correct error response to make sure that the data being transferred visually is an exact replica of the data being produced by the source. the only difference between the two is pretty much how the signal is sent hdmi is a hybrid and compacts audio with visual all in one cable rgb has split wires, anywhere from 3-5 (RGBHV) being the most common, used for computers and things of that sort. i dont know if you plan on using VGA hook ups or not but if you do i recommend good old analog RGB |
